Is It Ever Too Late?

 

 

 

Lack of talent, skills, and education prevented me from achieving a lot of my goals. Some of my goals were delusional, but some goals could have been achieved if was more focused.

At 61 years old I may not have the talent, skill, education, energy, or anything else needed to achieve a great goal.  However, I do have some achievable goals.

Stop & Engage

 

 

 

You may have heard of stop-and-frisk.    

The City of Chicago should consider testing stop and engage.   Stop and engage can be a community policing policy that could lower neighborhood crime.

The Chicago police along with a special crime prevention unit should ask young men young who are loitering or just hanging out.

Do you need a job?

Do you need training for a job?

Do you need mental health services?

Do you need assistance relocating out of the Chicago area?

The goal is to take away all excuses for a teen or young man to commit neighborhood crime.

Get young men the help they need.  If they don't get any assistance they will have to deal with the consequences of being a neighborhood criminal.

A stop-and-frisk refers to a brief non-intrusive police stop of a suspect. The Fourth Amendment requires that before stopping the suspect, the police must have a reasonable suspicion that a crime has been, is being, or is about to be committed by the suspect. If the police reasonably suspect that the suspect is armed and dangerous, the police may frisk the suspect, meaning that the police will give a quick pat-down of the suspect's outer clothing.
