I want Mayor Brandon Johnson to be successful, but I hope he leads beyond the Chicago Teachers Union social justice agenda.
Mayor Johnson's top focus should be reducing neighborhood crime ASAP. That means now, not one year or 4 years from today.
One way Mayor Johnson could immediately reduce crime is to make public offers to Chicago's street criminals. He can offer them a job, mental health counseling, or a bus ticket out of the Chicago area to start a new life.
The Chicago Teachers Union has their agenda, but neighborhood crime needs to be immediately reduced.
