Live In Chicago Illinois?

Drastically reducing the crime in Chicago is just one of Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s big challenges. Encouraging criminals to leave the Chicago area sounds mean but it must be done.  Not even one public school student should struggle with reading and writing. Not even one public school student in Chicago should leave high school not prepared for post secondary education. Chicago also needs more good jobs, great small, mid size and large businesses to attract people who will want to live in this cold weather city.

Lori Lightfoot Understands

 

For the African American (Black) critics of Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot understands African Americans in Chicago are a declining and unorganized group of people. Like Mayor Daley and Mayor Emanuel Mayor Lightfoot needs a certain percentage of the Black vote. Even if Mayor Lightfoot becomes a one term mayor like Jane Byrne, African Americans will still be a declining and unorganized group of people.

Once one of the biggest urban enclaves of African-Americans, peaking at 1.2 million in the 80s, Chicago’s black population is projected to drop to 665,000 by 2030, according to the Urban Institute.

No Crime Neighborhoods

 

The political and civic leaders in Chicago IL really don’t believe it is possible to develop crime free low income neighborhoods.  If they did not one CPS student would struggle in school year after year, graduating not prepared for post secondary education. If Chicago’s Political and civic leaders want to stop the crime they would ask the federal government to develop a targeted universal basic income program for families that need financial support.  If a pandemic, protests, and looting has not changed the mindset of institutional leaders in Chicago, what will?
