How will public school students spend their time this summer?
The lack of parental involvement can be detrimental when it comes to academic achievement, Price Elementary Principal Justin Moore said.
"We need the entire community engaging in this school's success," said Moore.

First, you start off with a great principal and role model such as Mr. Moore. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he was the assistant principal at Burnside Academy. Our kids "can't be what they can't see", so seeing a positive black male role model is a step in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteThe community has to recommit to establish an expectation of excellence and cooperation. At my blog we started a summer camp listing and sent a copy to all my local community based organizations and asked them to add any they knew and send a copy back so we could keep this an on going list.
