7 African Americans

 1 Mexican American

 1 Greek American

 7 African Americans

The number of African Americans running for mayor of the city of Chicago is a demonstration of why African Americans have so many issues.

Most African Americans are descendants of American slavery. Chattel slavery in North America lasted for 246 years. Then there was over a hundred years of racism and discrimination against the descendants of the slaves. Divide and conquer is an effective way to control the minds of any group of people.

Most of the victims of murder in Chicago are African Americans. Most of the crime ridden neighborhoods in Chicago are African American neighborhoods.

It may take 20 to 30 years and billions of dollars from the United States government to heal the mental wounds of the descendants of American slavery.

African American Disunity

The large number of African American mayoral candidates demonstrates the lack of unity in the African American community.

Most of the neighborhood crime in Chicago is perpetrated by African Americans, which also demonstrates the lack of unity in the African American community.

More Prevention Less Policing

How many mayoral candidates have a plan to move money from the Chicago Police Department to strategies that would prevent neighborhood crime?

Anyone who works or lives in a low income neighborhood knows how criminals are made.  They are partially manufactured by their home, neighborhood, and school environments.  Overwhelmed parents, and teachers need more support for their boys and teens that are on the road to becoming criminals.

Parents and teachers know what their child, and their students need to succeed in school.  Academic tutoring, and life skills after school programs can help students who are struggling in school.

Moving millions of dollars from the $1.9 billion police budget and the $9.5 billion Chicago Public Schools budget to help thousands of at-risk students could dramatically reduce neighborhood crime in Chicago.
