Advice For Middle and High Schools Students

Advice For Middle and High Schools Students

It is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one than to have an opportunity and not be prepared .
 Whitney Young Jr.
Thoughts have power; thoughts are energy. And you can make your world or break it by your own thinking.
Susan Taylor

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.
Colin Powell
You can't be successful all by yourself.  Other people make you successful.  That's why you have to focus on other people, not yourself.
Al Ries & Jack Trout: HORSE SENSE:

Everyone has a purpose in life . . . a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
Deepak Chopra

"It is not the brightest who succeed . . . Nor is success simply the sum of the decisions and efforts we make on our own behalf”.  It is, rather, a gift.  Outliers are those who have been given opportunities - and who have had the strength and presence of mind to seize them."
Malcolm Gladwell

10,000-Hour Rule, the key to success in
any field, is simply a matter of practicing
a specific task that can be accomplished
with 20 hours of work a week for
10 years.
Made popular in Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers, the 10,000 hour rule was derived from a study by Anders Ericsson, a psychologist who researched the success of violinists at the Berlin Academy of Music.

Winners
Winners do the things they are suppose to do, when they are suppose to do them, whether they feel like it or not.

Losers
Losers would rather have their way and fail, than to do what is right and succeed.

Pay yourself first and save some money!
Investing just $50 a month consistently over 25 years grows to $47,868 (assuming an average annual return of 8%).
A few reasons why you should continue your formal education for as long as possible!
An associate college degree is better than a high school degree, and so on.
Is college worth the cost?    A must see video!
Half of Americans could not come up with 2,000 dollars in order to deal with a routine emergency
Fifty million Americans are poor and another 50 million have been characterized “near poor,” which means they can feel the awful flames of poverty licking at their heels. That’s almost a third of the entire U.S. population.

You have to let it all go, fear, doubt, and disbelief.   Free your mind!

100 Years of Prosperity

To:

Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson
Gary, Indiana

You were excellent in the WBBM radio interview!  I wish you success in transforming Gary IN.

Mayor Wilson, would you also consider helping low income mothers and grandmothers raise their children properly?   Gary IN is a perfect place to show the world that working class and low income African Americans can transform a city where the neighborhoods are safe and clean, and the schools are excellent.

All kind of Americans will visit, spend money, stay in Gary hotels, open businesses, and buy a home in Gary IN when Gary becomes known for being a safe, clean, city with excellent schools.

Mayor Wilson, with all the great things you will accomplish as Mayor of Gary IN, please also grow some people.

If you want 1 year of prosperity, grow grain. If you want 10 years of prosperity, grow trees. If you want 100 years of prosperity, grow people.
